Why an in-house pharmacy

In an Emergency, Days Matter.

Outside pharmacies and online pet medication services have their place, but they were not built for emergencies. When a pet needs antibiotics for an infection, pain medication after surgery, or a specific drug to manage a critical condition, waiting 24, 48, or 72 hours for delivery is not an option. The medication has to be ready when your pet leaves our doors.

We built our pharmacy around that reality. The medications most commonly needed in emergency care are stocked, available, and dispensed by our team during the same visit your pet is treated. There is no second errand. There is no anxious waiting. Your pet starts their treatment plan immediately.

What We Keep on Hand for Emergency Care.

Our pharmacy is stocked with the medications our team uses most often in emergency situations, across the species we treat. Specific medications are selected and prescribed by our veterinarians based on each patient's condition, species, weight, and medical history.

Pain Management Medications

Multi-modal pain control options including opioid analgesics, anti-inflammatory medications, and supportive comfort medications tailored to species and condition.

Antibiotics and Antifungals

Broad-spectrum and targeted antimicrobial medications to treat infections from bite wounds, surgical sites, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, and more.

Anti-Nausea and GI Support

Medications to manage vomiting, control nausea, and support pets recovering from gastrointestinal upset, surgery, or toxin exposure.

Cardiac and Respiratory Medications

Critical-care medications for patients with heart conditions, respiratory distress, or other circulatory issues that need immediate intervention.

Anti-Seizure Medications

Both injectable and oral seizure medications for patients experiencing acute neurological events or transitioning to ongoing management.

Wound and Skin Care

Topical and oral medications for skin infections, hot spots, ear infections, allergic reactions, and post-surgical wound care.

Toxin and Poisoning Treatments

Medications used to manage toxin ingestion, including activated charcoal, anti-emetics, and specific antidotes when applicable.

Species-Specific Medications

Selected medications appropriate for birds, reptiles, rabbits, and other exotic pets. Many emergency hospitals do not stock these. We do.

Our team prepares the prescription from our in-house formulary. No outside pharmacy. No mail-order delays.

You receive clear at-home instructions on dosing, timing, what to watch for, and when to call us with questions.

01Can I get my pet's ongoing prescriptions filled here?We are an emergency hospital, not a long-term primary-care provider, so most ongoing prescriptions are best managed by your regular veterinarian. That said, in some cases we can provide refills, especially for patients we have actively treated. Call us to discuss your specific situation. 02Do you carry medications for exotic pets, birds, and reptiles?Yes. We stock select species-specific medications for birds, reptiles, rabbits, and other exotic pets. If your non-traditional pet needs emergency care, we have the formulary to support most situations. 03What if my pet has a known medication allergy or sensitivity?Tell us during your visit, and bring any documentation if you have it. Our veterinarians review medication choices against your pet's history before prescribing. If your pet has had a reaction in the past, we will work around it. 04Can I order a refill remotely if I cannot come in?In some cases, yes. Call us and we will look at your pet's records and determine what is appropriate. For controlled medications and certain prescriptions, an in-person visit may be required under Florida state law.
