Veterinary Diagnostics, On-Site and Same-Visit.

Emergency medicine moves fast. Our in-house diagnostic capabilities mean your pet gets the answers they need in the same visit, so we can act on what we find without delay.

Why on-site diagnostics matter

When Your Pet Needs Answers, Time Matters.

Diagnostic testing is the foundation of good emergency medicine. Without the right information, even the most experienced veterinarian is guessing. With the right information, the path to treatment is clear.

Many emergency hospitals in South Florida send out diagnostic samples to external labs and wait hours, sometimes days, for results. We built our hospital differently. Our diagnostic capabilities are on-site, run by our team, and integrated into the same visit. Most patients receive results during their initial exam, which means treatment can begin immediately.

In an emergency, that difference can be the difference.
Capabilities

What We Can Run On-Site, in Real Time.

Complete Blood Work

A full complete blood count (CBC), chemistry panel, and electrolyte testing run in our in-house lab. Results in minutes, not hours. We use these tests to identify infections, organ function issues, anemia, dehydration, and many other conditions that change emergency treatment plans on the spot.

Digital Radiology (X-ray)

Our digital X-ray system produces high-quality images instantly, allowing us to assess fractures, foreign bodies, lung conditions, and other internal issues during your visit. Digital imaging also makes it easy to share results with your primary veterinarian or specialist if follow-up is needed.

Diagnostic Ultrasound

Ultrasound gives us a real-time view of soft tissues, abdominal organs, and the heart, helping us identify issues that X-rays cannot see. We use ultrasound for cases involving suspected internal bleeding, abdominal masses, pregnancy complications, and more.

Cytology and Microscopy

Quick microscopic analysis of fluids, ear and skin samples, and aspirates allows us to diagnose infections, ear issues, lumps, and other concerns during your visit, without waiting for outside lab results.

Urinalysis

In-house urine testing helps us assess urinary tract health, identify infections, and evaluate kidney function. For male cats with possible urinary blockages, this is critical information that drives immediate treatment decisions.

Specialty Testing as Needed

For more complex cases, we can also send out specialty diagnostics to trusted reference labs. When external testing is needed, we explain what is being tested, how long it will take, and what the next steps will be while we wait.

How we use diagnostics

Diagnostics Are Tools. They Are Not the Goal.

We do not run tests for the sake of running tests. Every diagnostic decision is made with a specific question in mind: what do we need to know to make the right treatment decision for this patient?

Before we recommend any test, we explain what it is, what it tells us, what it costs, and how it will change what happens next. If a test will not change our treatment plan, we usually do not recommend it. That approach keeps your bill aligned with what your pet actually needs and respects the trust families place in us.

We run the tests your pet needs. Not the tests that pad the bill.
Records and continuity

Your Records Follow You Home.

After your visit, we send a complete copy of your pet's diagnostic results to your primary veterinarian, along with a case summary explaining what we found and what we recommended. Your daytime vet will have everything they need to continue care, and you will not be stuck explaining or re-testing.

If you do not have a regular veterinarian and need a recommendation, ask us. We can point you toward practices in the Fort Lauderdale area we trust.
