Compassionate care · Always here
Rescue organizations across South Florida do extraordinary work for animals who need it most. Below are groups we are proud to support, and that we point families toward when they are ready to adopt or want to help.

Pet Emergency Center has been part of the South Florida community for over 40 years. In that time, we have worked alongside countless rescue organizations doing essential work for animals in need. Some find homes for stray dogs and cats. Some specialize in breeds others overlook. Some focus on senior animals or those with medical needs that make adoption harder.
Pet owners often come to us during emergencies wondering how to help an injured stray or where to turn when they can no longer care for their pet. We made this list to point them in the right direction.
If you run a South Florida rescue organization and would like to be considered for inclusion here, please reach out.

If you want to support pet rescue in South Florida, there are many ways to make a real difference, even with limited time or resources.
Most rescues have animals waiting for the right home. Even a single adoption changes one life and creates space for the next animal who needs help.
Fostering provides temporary care for animals waiting for permanent homes. Many rescues operate primarily through foster networks and need new fosters constantly.
Walks, transport, fundraising events, social media support, and many other tasks keep rescues running. Most groups welcome volunteers with a few hours to spare.
Most rescues operate on tight budgets and rely on donations to cover medical care, food, supplies, and operating costs. Even small contributions help.
Sharing posts about adoptable pets, lost pets, or rescue events on social media costs nothing and reaches people you do not know. Word of mouth still does the heaviest lifting in the rescue community.
When a rescue organization brings an animal to Pet Emergency Center for emergency care, we approach the case the same way we approach any patient: with compassion, transparent communication, and genuine care. Many of the animals brought to us by rescues are stray, injured, or recovering from neglect, and they often need help most.
If you are involved in rescue work and want to discuss emergency veterinary support for your organization, call us at (954) 772-0420 during operating hours.
When a rescue brings an animal to us, that animal gets the same care as anyone else. That is non-negotiable.
If you run an active rescue organization in South Florida and would like to be considered for inclusion on this page, please contact us. We update this list periodically as the rescue community grows.
