Pet Emergency Center is north of Hollywood in Fort Lauderdale, a short drive up I-95 or US-1. Hollywood families bring us their pets when their daytime vet is closed and the situation cannot wait until morning.

Hollywood is a beach and waterfront community, and the pets we see from this area carry specific risks: heat exposure, beach injuries, encounters with year-round wildlife. Hollywood daytime vets are skilled and busy, and many refer their after-hours emergencies to us.
Our hospital is small, independently owned, and run by veterinarians who live in this region. We have served South Florida families for over 40 years. The Hollywood pet families who come to us regularly often live in Hollywood Beach, West Hollywood, the Hollywood Hills neighborhoods, or near Hard Rock and the Seminole communities.
Diagnostics, surgery, critical care, and follow-up coordination all happen under one roof. Your pet stays with us through the visit, not handed off to another building.

Foreign body removal, GDV correction, splenectomy, C-sections, wound repair, and more. Diagnostics and surgery happen in the same visit.
In-house imaging (digital X-ray, ultrasound) and bloodwork. We do not transfer your pet to another building for testing.
If you are not sure whether the situation is an emergency, a $75 video consultation with one of our vets can help you decide. Credited toward an in-person visit if needed.
Pet Emergency Center is at 921 East Cypress Creek Road in northeastern Fort Lauderdale. The drive from Hollywood is one of the more direct in our service area.
Hollywood pets share specific risks tied to coastal living, year-round outdoor weather, and a denser urban environment. Situations we frequently treat from Hollywood families include:
Fishing line ingestion, hot sand burns on paw pads, jellyfish stings, and saltwater drinking sickness. Hollywood Beach Boardwalk is a wonderful place for pets, with risks worth knowing.
Hollywood summers are intense. Heavy panting, weakness, or collapse after a walk should be treated as a heat emergency until proven otherwise.
Cane toads, snake encounters, and iguana confrontations all happen in Hollywood yards. Drooling, swelling, or any sudden unsteady behavior after outdoor time should be evaluated.
Many Hollywood visitors bring their pets. If you are traveling and your pet needs emergency care, we can see them. Bring whatever medical history and medications you have on hand.
You do not need an appointment. If your pet is in distress, call us as you head out the door so we know to expect you and can prepare. Our team will be ready when you arrive.
If your pet is in active distress, call us first. We can advise on whether to drive or call a closer hospital before you leave.
Call us, walk in during open hours, or book a telehealth consultation if you would rather talk to a veterinarian from home first.
