Pet Emergency Center is east of Davie in Fort Lauderdale, a short drive across I-595 or up I-95. Davie families bring us their pets when their daytime vet is closed and the situation cannot wait.

Davie is unlike most of Broward County. Large lots, equestrian properties, ranches, big yards, and a strong tradition of outdoor pet ownership. Many of the pets we see from Davie families spend significant time outdoors, which means specific risk profiles: snake encounters, heat exposure, traumatic injuries from active outdoor lives. Davie daytime veterinarians are excellent, and many refer their after-hours emergencies to us.
Our hospital is small, independently owned, and run by veterinarians who live in this region. We have served South Florida families for over 40 years. The Davie families who come to us regularly often live near Nova Southeastern University, in the equestrian neighborhoods, near Pine Island Road, or in the communities along Griffin Road and Stirling Road.
Diagnostics, surgery, critical care, and follow-up coordination all happen under one roof. Your pet stays with us through the visit, not handed off to another building.

Foreign body removal, GDV correction, splenectomy, C-sections, wound repair, and more. Diagnostics and surgery happen in the same visit.
In-house imaging (digital X-ray, ultrasound) and bloodwork. We do not transfer your pet to another building for testing.
If you are not sure whether the situation is an emergency, a $75 video consultation with one of our vets can help you decide. Credited toward an in-person visit if needed.
Pet Emergency Center is at 921 East Cypress Creek Road in Fort Lauderdale. From most of Davie, the route east is straightforward.
Davie pets see a distinct mix of risks tied to outdoor life, equestrian properties, and South Florida wildlife. Situations we frequently treat from Davie families include:
Outdoor properties in Davie occasionally bring pets into contact with snakes. Sudden swelling, lameness, drooling, or collapse after time outside should be treated as urgent. Call us before you drive if possible.
Pets on properties with horses can encounter kicks, falls, fence injuries, and ingestion of horse feed or supplements. We see and treat these cases regularly.
Lawn chemicals, mulch (especially cocoa mulch), houseplants, and feed contaminants. If you suspect your pet ate something they should not have, call us with the packaging or plant on hand.
Pets working or playing on Davie properties in summer heat can develop heat stroke quickly. Heavy panting, weakness, or collapse after time outside is a serious signal.
You do not need an appointment. If your pet is in distress, call us as you head out the door so we know to expect you and can prepare. Our team will be ready when you arrive.
If your pet is in active distress, call us first. We can advise on whether to drive or call a closer hospital before you leave.
Call us, walk in during open hours, or book a telehealth consultation if you would rather talk to a veterinarian from home first.
