Emergency & Critical Care
The full range of urgent care for pets in distress: stabilization, IV fluids, oxygen support, monitoring, and overnight observation when needed.
Compassionate care · Always here
Pet Emergency Center is a short drive south of Boca Raton in Fort Lauderdale. Many Boca families come to us when their local vet has closed for the day or the weekend, and the situation cannot wait.

Boca Raton families often have a longstanding relationship with a daytime veterinarian. We are not here to replace that relationship. We are here for the hours that practice is closed: weeknights, weekends, and holidays. After your visit with us, we send a detailed case summary back to your daytime vet so they can pick up the care from there.
Our hospital is independently owned and run by veterinarians who live in this region. The team is small, the care is hands-on, and pricing is explained before any major treatment. Many of our regular families travel to us from Mizner Park, Boca West, the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club neighborhoods, and the communities along Glades Road and Palmetto Park.
Diagnostics, surgery, critical care, and follow-up coordination all happen under one roof. Your pet stays with us through the visit, not handed off to another building.

Foreign body removal, GDV correction, splenectomy, C-sections, wound repair, and more. Diagnostics and surgery happen in the same visit.
In-house imaging (digital X-ray, ultrasound) and bloodwork. We do not transfer your pet to another building for testing.
If you are not sure whether the situation is an emergency, a $75 video consultation with one of our vets can help you decide. Credited toward an in-person visit if needed.
Pet Emergency Center is at 921 East Cypress Creek Road in Fort Lauderdale, in northeastern Broward County. The drive south from Boca is one of the simplest in our service area: a straight shot down I-95.
Boca Raton families bring us a mix of cases. Senior Pet Emergencies are common, given the demographics. Beach and outdoor injuries also come up often. Common situations we treat from Boca include:
Sudden weakness, collapse, breathing changes, or new neurological signs in an older dog or cat. These deserve immediate evaluation. We can stabilize, image, and decide next steps on-site.
Boca pets sometimes get into people food at gatherings, take a bite of something on a walk, or find a houseplant. Pancreatitis, foreign body, and toxin ingestion are all things we treat regularly.
From scrapes on golf courses or in dog-friendly outdoor areas. Even small wounds in pets can hide deeper damage and benefit from a same-visit cleaning and closure.
Chronic conditions in older pets sometimes flare suddenly. Difficulty breathing, persistent cough, or fluid retention should never wait until morning.
You do not need an appointment. If your pet is in distress, call us as you head out the door so we know to expect you and can prepare. Our team will be ready when you arrive.
If your pet is in active distress, call us first. We can advise on whether to drive or call a closer hospital before you leave.
Call us, walk in during open hours, or book a telehealth consultation if you would rather talk to a veterinarian from home first.
